A huge thank you to everyone who came to yesterday's open morning to celebrate National Racehorse Week and it was great to see our local MP David Johnston come along to show his support . We had a great turn out and we were very lucky with the weather. Eve's garden resembled the final of the Great British Bake Off as staff and friends had made a fine array of cakes which went down a treat with everyone who came to visit. Along with donations for the cakes we had a raffle to raise money for The Air Ambulance and Racing Welfare. Raffles are always popular and we had some great prizes kindly donated which included homemade preserves, a cheese selection from 'The Cheese Shed' at the Nettlebed Creamery (which we can all highly recommend!), a signed photo of Frankie Dettori's Magnificent Seven to mention a few. We are thrilled to report that the Raffle and Cakes made over £500 to split between both charities so thank you very much for everyone's generosity! We had horses going in the spa and team Woodway were all on hand to answer questions - Lady Elysia had to make her way though the crowd as she was off to Bath for the 4:30pm race! We all thoroughly enjoyed the morning and welcoming new faces to Woodway and hopefully our love for the horses was all there to see.
