59.78 secs is all it took for Chipotle to secure the Windsor Castle stakes giving Eve and all at Woodway their 2nd Royal Ascot success. Back in the Autumn Eve came up with the idea of creating a new syndicate consisting of three 2yo colts to run under the banner of 'The Woodway 20' - we then set out to find 20 possible shareholders to come and enjoy the ride! We are very lucky to have such a loyal base of owners here at Woodway and some were very keen to join in from the get go. Some have been a part of our yard for many years, some are members of Eve's family and for some this is their first share in a racehorse! Never could we have dreamt that the debut runner for the syndicate Chipotle (who was an absolute snip at the sales for 10,000gns when catching Eve's eye) would not only score on his first racecourse outing in the Brocklesby but would go on to win at flat racings biggest showcase. Due to covid restrictions some of the Woodway 20 had never met before yesterday's amazing win....and there's no better place to get acquainted than Royal Ascot! Not all the members we able to make it to the races but I'm certain they were jumping around in front on their TVs at home! Stall one had been a concern prior to the race but thankfully those worries were diminished when Real World surged to victory in the Royal Hunt Cup from stall four. Tough as teak Chipotle travelled strongly throughout the race and Charlie Bishop guided him to victory under a brilliantly cool ride. Charlie was also celebrating his 2nd Royal Ascot winner as too was 'Chippy's' groom Nynke Schilder - who also looks after our Queen Anne hero Accidental Agent! We have 2 more runners at Royal Ascot over the coming days and fingers crossed either Jumby or Punchbowl Flyer can follow in Chipotle's hoof prints!
