OWNERSHIP

If you become a racehorse owner here at Woodway, you can expect be kept up to date with the development of your horse and are very welcome to come and visit the yard and see your horse(s) exercise on the variety of gallops we have here on the beautiful Berkshire Downs.

A lot of our owners make regular visits to our yard as they enjoy the interaction with their horse(s) and our team here at Woodway. We cater for all types of ownership whether it be syndicates, part ownerships or sole owners -

We aim to keep our owners up to date with photos and videos of their horse(s) via the online platform ‘The Racing Manager’, emails or WhatsApp.

The office team of Sarah Scott and Liam McNamee are always on hand or at the end of the phone to assist with any enquiries.

On race-days you will be entitled to all the owners’ privileges and access to exclusive areas offered by the racecourses.

If your horse wins prize money you will be entitled to the owners’ share (around 75%), but the majority of people own racehorses for the sheer fun and enjoyment that such close involvement with the sport can bring.

THE WOODWAY 20

The Woodway 20 was only created 3 years ago but in that time, it has developed a reputation for sourcing winners! It has been hugely successful with victories in the Windsor Castle stakes at Royal Ascot, the Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy and The Brocklesby at Doncaster courtesy of Chipotle and the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom won by Bobsleigh.

The Woodway 20 provides syndicate members with the chance to experience all the thrills of horse racing within an easy and affordable structure. 20 members each owning 5% of 3 horses to race for one season before selling at the HIT sale in October of their 2yo career.

The cost of each share depends on the sale price of the 3 yearlings purchased. A year’s Training fees are also included in each share price so members can concentrate on enjoying the experience of having a horse in training and not have to worry about paying the bills each month!

Syndicate members are welcome anytime to come and see the horses up on the gallops and we have an annual summer lunch at the yard.

EDEN RACING

Eden Racing is our other syndicate which was put together by Eve at the turn of the Millennium. The red silks have been carried with distinction over the years and have graced the winners’ enclosure on more than 50 occasions.

Eden Racing can match some of the top syndicates on offer and can even boast the Group 1 winning two-year-old TOUT SEUL racing under its banner in past seasons.

Most recently the likes of 8-time winner ICE AGE who has amassed over £200,000 in prize money and the admirably consistent TIN HAT - who gave his owners some great days out at Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood as a 2yo. In 2023 we had REVENUE who won his maiden on debut, then ran with credit in the Tattersalls Super Auction Sales Race at The Curragh.

Each year Eve scours the sales to purchase a Yearling specifically for Eden Racing. She aims to find a horse than can give owners some fun in its two-year-old career and then can progress as a three / four-year-old.

This format seems to really suit our syndicate members as they like to get to know the horses and not just have them racing for one season.

The syndicates are generally made up of ten shareholders and the cost of each share depends on the sale price of the yearling purchased.

Just like The Woodway 20 format -A year’s Training fees are also included in each share price so members can concentrate on enjoying the experience of having a horse in training and not have to worry about paying the bills each month!

EDEN RACING CLUB

Just like our Eden Racing syndicates the Club has been going for many years. This acts as a great starting point for people who are new to racing and Eden Racing Club is all about experiencing the thrill of being involved in racing rather than actual ownership.

A year’s Club membership cost £750 for a full year, and this entitles you to owner’s badges on race days, access to exclusive owner’s areas at racecourses including the parade ring and visit the club horses on the gallops.

All prize money won goes back into the keep of the Club horses. The Club has had a great season in 2023 celebrating 6 winners thanks to Bascinet & Uncle Dick.
