A good day at the office yesterday! The two old buggers PHLUKE and BEAVER PATROL came to the party and both consented to put their head in front at Brighton yesterday. I thought that they may have retired themselves, as jockeys tend to get on them say oh bless them they don’t owe you anything, both horses rather think the same and just have a lovely day out. Yesterday was different and they got similar rides from 2 apprentices and they had the hurry up coming out of the stalls and then flew. This was my first double on the same card, so I was very chuffed.
On a side note, thinking about prize money, the owners prize for Beaver Patrol’s race was a pot of jam! Need I say more. On Monday Kingarrick won at Warwick, however his antics before the race were not very good so today he is having a little operation. Yurituni came right back to form, running a blinder at Epsom, just being caught on the line.
We have got 3 runners at Salisbury today. CATCHANOVA is due a win, he has been knocking at the door for a while, so it is definitely his turn, although he runs in an apprentice race, so anything can happen. ROODLE is having her first start this year, and as she is rated 90 it looks a tough race, I think she will run well but could need it both mentally and physically and we have a nice two year old MRS GREELEY running. She is very nice, but the Quidhampton maiden is traditionally one of the hottest 2yo races of the year, so I will pleased if she runs well.
